” Not all who wander are lost.” ~ J.R.R. Tokien

Tell me about a trip. Did you go on a holiday before Covid 19 changed everything? Did you have to cancel a vacation? Do you have an interesting commute? Who travels with you? Why did you go? Where did you go? How did you travel? How did Covid 19 impact your travel plans?

There were categories of travel for me.

Trips this year largely involved my mum. Solo trips in my jeep travelling to the Okanagan to stay with her during the initial months of the cancer diagnosis, then a week long trip to Kelowna for radiation, then when the province opened we three sisters and mum went to Ucluelet and Tofino. Mum had never been to Chesterman’s beach.

.

Then there were the many drives with my daughter. Always short trips in the Jeep, usually fraught with some tension and worry mixed with relief. I treasure this time together.

.

And finally a road trip to the Kootenays. Research for the next phase. We found a remarkable bed and breakfast in Kimberley and it proved to offer me some days of quiet respite while Thomas fly fished the local rivers.
